Justin Bieber Returns to No. 1 on Billboard Artist 100, Rihanna Back Up to No. 2

With a ninth week atop the tally, Bieber bests The Weeknd for the most frames at the summit among men. Meanwhile, Rihanna revisits her best rank on the chart.

Justin Bieber is the top musical act in the U.S., reclaiming the No. 1 rank on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated April 2) for a ninth total week.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across Billboard's most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
With his ninth (cumulative) week atop the Artist 100, Bieber one-ups (fellow Canadian) The Weeknd for the most frames logged at No. 1 among males. Here's an updated look at the acts with the most time on top since the Artist 100 launched in July 2014:
31 weeks, Taylor Swift
10 weeks, Adele
9 weeks, Justin Bieber
8 weeks, The Weeknd
6 weeks, Drake
Bieber rebounds 2-1 on the Artist 100, with radio airplay marking his greatest points contributor (29 percent), as new single "Company," from his album Purpose, rises 25-21 on the Pop Songs chart (up by 38 percent in plays). Social reaction is next at 23 percent, followed by streaming (21 percent).
Rounding out this week's Artist 100 top five are Rihanna, who returns to her best rank (4-2), Adele (3-3), Drake (5-4) and Twenty One Pilots (6-5).
