WizkidPop singer is slated to perform with Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, others at the Essence Festival 2016
The starboy gets to sell his music to a wider international audience.
Just days after the release of Drake‘s ‘One Dance’ official single featuring Wizkid which made it to number 2 on iTunes USA and number 1 in several countries, Essence announces Wizkid as part of the annual Essence festival line up billed to hold in New Orleans Louisiana between June 30 and July 3.
He will be performing alongside Mariah Carey, Maxwell, Kendrick Lamar and many others.
This
gives the starboy’s music a strong platform and huge opportunity to get
some R&B/Hip-Hop fans to get familiar and hopefully love his sound
making him crossover stronger to the U.S and International global
market.
The pop star became the first Nigerian
artist to emerge on Billboard’s Twitter Last 24 hours chart courtesy of
his feature in Drake's'One dance' song.
On 'One Dance,' the 6 God gets assists from Wizkid, whom he worked with last year by featuring in a remix to the singer’s ‘Ojuelegba’ mega tune, and Kyla, sampling the Crazy Cousinz remix of her song, 'Do You Mind'. This raises the bar a lot higher for the star pop singer helping to improve his brand visibility. The tune 'One dance' features production by Ninteen85 with co-production credits by 40.
The
Nigerian pop singer is having a busy year so far going on international
tours as well as local ones while also hatching likely major
collaborations with international as well as local music acts.
