Do people have a right to bash celebrities?

well yes dey do
Dissing celebrities is on the trend but is it the right thing to do?

It’s a common occurrence to see celebrities lashing out at people on social media, either Twitter or Facebook.

Hardly a week goes by without a singer or movie star without reacting to a troll in their comments section. That's what the we see these days, social media bridging the gap between the star and the fan.

While social media has helped to make communication between the star and his fans more intimate, it has also brought contempt. Remember the popular saying? Familiarity breeds contempt. This is the downside of social media for celebrities. Anyone can take a shot at you.
An actress such as Toyin Aimakhu regularly claps back at the people who attack her online. Popular actress Uche Jombo hit back at people who called her fat on her Instagram account early this month.
Caroline Danjuma Caroline Danjuma

Caroline Danjuma and Davido are also celebs known to hit back at people who say nasty things as well.
Dissing celebrities online is no longer a new thing. It is now common to see a celebrity being made fun of. Take for example Prison Break star Wentworth Miller who quickly became a meme after his fat picture came out online.

Responding to the jibes Wentworth Miller revealed that he has been battling with depression since his childhood. "I've struggled with depression since childhood. It's a battle that's cost me time, opportunities, relationships, and a thousand sleepless nights," he went on. "I was looking everywhere for relief/comfort/distraction. And I turned to food. It could have been anything. Drugs. Alcohol. Sex. But eating became the one thing I could look forward to. And I put on weight. Big f--king deal" he revealed.
The TV star’s case is one of the many celebrities who have cracked under pressure from people taunting them online.
Kehlani Kehlani

Rising singing star Kehlani is a fresh example of what trolling can do to a celebrity mentally. Kehlani attempted suicide after receiving so much trolling from her recent relationship problems.
Even though they are celebrities, stars are also human beings too and they feel the bite of harsh words thrown at them. Celebrity bashing is not cool because it affects the mind state and mental health of whoever is being ridiculed or unnecessarily criticized.
Even though social media has brought celebrities closer to their fans it has made them targets for abuse and insults. Fans can criticize popular celebrities but when done with hate and anger it could be damaging.
We have seen celebrities become mean when the heat gets too much. We have seen stars turn for the worse when they are brutally bashed online.
It’s a free world after all but people should exercise restraint and be more matured when talking to celebrities.

Why Obama went to a ballgame in Cuba after the Brussels attacks

(CNN) As the Brussels attacks jarred Europe and sent shockwaves through U.S. politics, President Barack Obama stuck to his agenda: a speech to the Cuban people and a baseball game. Critics such as Republican presidential candidate John Kasich railed at Obama for failing to return to the U.S. immediately. But the President argued that sticking to his schedule denied terrorists any victory in their goal of upending daily life. "The whole premise of terrorism is to try to disrupt people's ordinary lives," Obama said Tuesday in Havana when asked if he had second thoughts about attending the game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban national team. The clashing approaches offer a window into the president's worldview -- his desire to emphasize long-term interests over short-term emergencies and project calm at a time of high public concern. It's a dynamic that has sometimes caused him problems, leaving aides concerned that Obama's cool ...
